Who is ready for a spunky, fun-loving, neighborhood-watch, pup-cup loving, groomer PUG to add some joy to their lives?
Well, meet SADIE LAYNE, your new best friend!
Sadie Layne is a spunky little pug with a big heart, a soft spot for snuggles, and a personality that’s impossible not to love. Whether she’s zooming around the yard, snuggling up on the couch, or giving you the cutest little bark at passing squirrels, Sadie is sure to bring endless joy to your life. Let’s dive into the life of this pint-sized pup with a whole lot of personality!
**Meal Time: Quick but Careful**
Sadie is a quick eater, devouring her meals with gusto. While she’s speedy when it comes to eating, she can be a bit hesitant with fruits and veggie. There’s no food aggression here though! She’s totally fine with sharing snacks and treats with her fellow pug sibling, Moose. When she’s not eating, Sadie enjoys Charlie Bears (especially apple-flavored ones) and loves her small stuffed toys and ropes. But be warned—if you’re not paying attention, she may try to sneak a bite of your snack!
**Walks & Zoomies: Go, Go, Go!**
Sadie’s energy is a fun mix of “let’s play” and “I’ll nap for hours.” She enjoys quick walks and zoomies in the yard, but don’t let her short legs fool you—she can keep up when it’s time to run! She loves to take charge on walks and walks fast, though she can get distracted by all the interesting smells. She might need a little redirection to focus, especially when there are squirrels in sight (she hasn’t yet realized they climb trees!). On rainy days, she’ll tolerate the weather for a quick bathroom break but would prefer to stay dry if possible.
**Social Butterfly (with a Dash of Shyness)**
Sadie absolutely adores humans and would happily be your lap dog all day, every day. She’s a bit shy at first with new people and dogs but warms up quickly once she feels safe. While she enjoys being the center of attention (who doesn’t, right?), she’s also content cuddling up with her pug sibling, Moose, though she might get a little jealous if Moose steals her human’s attention. She’s been fine with smaller dogs and is still figuring out how to interact with larger pups.
**Cuddle Time & Car Rides**
Sadie is a champion snuggler, and if you let her, she’ll happily curl up on your lap for hours. When she’s not snoozing, she loves to give her pug brother Moose kisses, especially on his ears (which he doesn’t mind one bit). As for car rides, Sadie’s getting better at settling in the backseat with Moose but would happily ride in your lap if you let her. She’s not prone to motion sickness and enjoys trips to pet-friendly places like breweries and parks.
**Playtime & Toys**
Sadie has a soft spot for small stuffed toys, ropes, and anything she can chew on. Her playtime usually involves a few zoomies around the yard followed by a cuddle session with her favorite toys. Though she’s active, she tires out quickly—typical pug behavior—so you’ll often find her snoozing on the couch after her outdoor adventures.
**Bathroom Breaks & House Training**
Sadie’s bathroom habits are pretty standard for a pug. She usually does her business fairly quickly in the morning, though she can be a bit picky at night. She’s had a few accidents inside but is getting better at communicating when she needs to go outside. Her house training has improved significantly since joining her foster family, and she’s well on her way to being accident-free.
**Snoring & Crate Time**
As with most pugs, Sadie can snore like a freight train—especially when she’s snuggled up next to you for a nap. She’s crate trained and can stay in her crate for an hour or two, though she’d much rather be with her humans if given the choice. She’s not a huge fan of being left alone in the crate, but she doesn’t mind it if someone is home nearby.
**The Pug Life: Funny Habits & Behaviors**
Sadie has a few quirks that make her even more endearing. For one, she has a *very* strong opinion on squirrels and will try her best to catch them, despite their tree-climbing talents. She’s also a little escape artist and can sometimes slip under low fences when she’s curious about what’s beyond. Her foster family is still working on redirecting her tendency to snap at Moose when she’s feeling possessive of attention, but all in all, she’s a well-behaved little lady. And like any true pug, Sadie will gladly give you a kiss (or several) if she thinks you’re in need of a little love.
**Perfect Fit For..**
Sadie would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention. She likes having another dog around, especially one who respects her personal space, but she wouldn’t mind being your one and only. She’s good with smaller dogs but is a little more reserved around larger ones. She’s not tested with cats yet, but she’d probably be just fine. Her ideal home would be one where her humans are home a lot—she’s a true lap dog at heart.
**Fun Fact**
Sadie came to her foster family a bit on the scrawny side but has been steadily gaining healthy weight and looking even more adorable every day. She’s also got a little vision loss in her right eye, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit—she’s just as sassy and playful as ever!
**Sadie’s Daily Routine**
– Morning: Wakes up in bed (snuggles are a must!), eats breakfast, then outside for a quick bathroom break
– Mid-morning: Zoomies in the yard and playtime with toys
– Afternoon: Naps and cuddles, with some occasional outdoor breaks to pee and play
– Evening: A quick walk, dinner around 5:30, followed by more playtime and relaxation with her humans
