This handsome senior gentleman is approximately 11 years young, a beautifully compact and chonky 20.6 pounds, and is currently living the good life in his central Pennsylvania foster home.
Emmett Dean comes to us from an unsafe situation. He arrived with absolutely nothing — not even a collar to his name — but he brought a heart ready for a peaceful new chapter. He has a dental scheduled for 8/18 so he can look and feeel his best.

Emmett Dean — also known as Emmy — is an 11-year-old gentleman from Central PA who has quietly decided that the best life is a slow, snuggly one. He loves to sleep, cuddle hard core (his foster’s words), and eat his meals with the focused enthusiasm only a pug can muster. He responds to his name, rides in the car like a seasoned traveler, and learned to use a ramp to get into bed on his very first night in foster care. For a senior boy, he’s remarkably adaptable.
Emmett doesn’t see well, which means he’s most comfortable in a calm, predictable environment where people move thoughtfully and he isn’t caught off guard. He does beautifully with other dogs, though he clearly prefers laid-back companions who won’t rush into his space — his foster dog Tessa is his constant companion and sleeping partner.
On the practical side: Emmett is house trained, crate trained, and a champ at ear cleaning and wrinkle maintenance. He’ll wear a belly wrap without complaint if marking becomes a concern. His one non-negotiable treat is Fromm Crunchy Os Blueberry Blast.
Emmett does have separation anxiety, so he’ll thrive in a home where he’s not left alone for long stretches. This anxiety is well controlled if he has a buddy.
