💖 MEET TESSA KAY: OUR LITTLE FIGHTER 💖

Some dogs come into rescue quietly. Others arrive and immediately remind you why you do this at all. Tessa Kay is very much the second kind.

At just 3 years old and 20 lbs, this sweet fawn girl has already been through more than most. Tessa came to us in crisis, needing emergency surgery for a life-threatening prolapse. It was touch-and-go for a moment—but Tessa had other plans.

And now? She’s hitting milestones like a champ.

The biggest one: Tessa Kay is peeing on her own—which, in her world, is a huge deal. It means her body is working, her repair is holding, and she is officially on the road to recovery.

The Tessa Kay Vibe:

  • Brave without making a fuss about it
  • Sweet, gentle, and very people-oriented
  • Quietly affectionate (she’s a lean-in-close kind of girl)
  • Already embracing the good life—soft beds, cozy blankets, and being cared for

She’s now settled into her foster home in PA, where she’s trading hospital stress for peace, healing, and a whole lot of love. She has a follow-up appointment coming up, but so far, she’s doing exactly what we hoped: getting stronger every day.

Tessa still has some recovery ahead of her, so she’s not quite ready for adoption just yet—but we’ll be sharing updates as she continues to heal and show us more of her personality.

What we can tell you is this:
She’s a fighter. She’s resilient. And she’s going to make someone very, very lucky.

Stay tuned for more from this special girl. 💕
