Some dogs want adventure.
Paulie Blue just wants you.
Whether you’re watching TV, working from home, running errands, or heading to bed, Paulie believes life is simply better when he’s right beside his favorite person. If you’ve been looking for a loyal companion who thinks cuddling is a full-time job, you’ve found him.
The Ultimate Velcro Pug
Paulie doesn’t need to be the center of attention—but he does want to be part of whatever you’re doing.
He’s affectionate, funny, and happiest when he can curl up next to you. At bedtime, he’ll happily trade any open space for a spot pressed right against you, and his favorite place in the house is wherever his people happen to be.
Cozy by Nature
Paulie’s default setting is relaxed.
He loves long naps, leisurely days, and quiet evenings filled with snuggles. But don’t let that fool you—he still enjoys a little playtime, especially if there’s a chew toy involved. After a few minutes of fun, though, he’s perfectly content returning to his favorite hobby: relaxing.
Full of Personality
Paulie has a wonderfully expressive way of communicating.
When he’s excited to see you or wants a little extra attention, he’ll give a gentle, goofy little “chomp.” It’s never aggressive—it’s simply Paul’s dramatic way of saying, “Please notice me.”
His foster family laughs about it every day.
Food Makes Everything Better
Paulie enjoys Natural Balance Salmon & Sweet Potato and is a big fan of treats.
Juicy treats, crunchy treats, chewy treats—it doesn’t matter much to him.
His only weakness?
Cheese.
If cheese exists anywhere nearby, Paulie would appreciate being informed immediately.
Home Life
Paulie thrives with a predictable routine.
He enjoys sleeping in, taking several quality naps throughout the day, spending time outside, and ending every evening with plenty of couch time before heading to bed beside his people.
He is generally house trained, with one important exception:
Rain.
Paulie would strongly prefer that rain simply not exist. On wet days, he may decide going outside is unacceptable, so a patient family willing to work around his weather opinions will suit him best.
Walks & Car Rides
Paulie enjoys neighborhood walks and still likes to “check his messages” by stopping to sniff and leave a few notes of his own.
He also rides beautifully in the car. Whether it’s a quick trip across town or a longer drive, Paulie is happy to settle in—as long as he’s close to his person.
Still Learning
When Paulie first entered foster care, being in a crate was frightening.
With patience, encouragement, and plenty of treats, he’s made tremendous progress. He’ll now willingly go into his crate and continue improving every day.
He may be nearly eight years old, but he’s still discovering that new experiences can be positive ones.
Grooming & Health
Paulie is wonderfully cooperative for baths and wrinkle cleaning.
He does have ongoing dental disease that his future family should be prepared to continue addressing with their veterinarian.
His tumor has also been successfully removed, and he’s recovered beautifully.
Because of a history of seizures associated with flea and tick medications, his future family should continue working with their veterinarian to choose safe parasite prevention.
The Perfect Match
Paulie can be a little shy when meeting new people and may take several weeks to fully settle into a new home. Once he trusts you, though, you’ll discover an incredibly funny, deeply affectionate companion who simply wants to love and be loved.
He gets along well with other dogs, does well around children, and has previously lived successfully with cats.
The only thing left on his wish list is a forever family.
If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a champion cuddler, and a dog who will make every ordinary day feel a little warmer, Paulie Blue is waiting to meet you.
