A Pug Story...

Ducky Jones is a gentle, well-loved pug who is adjusting to big changes with quiet resilience and a whole lot of heart.

Ducky’s parents both passed away within seven months of each other, and the home he was left in was no longer a safe or comfortable environment for him. Larger, younger dogs in the household were aggressive toward Ducky, and he needed a calmer place where he could feel secure again. Appalachian Pug Rescue stepped in to make sure he got exactly that.

In foster care, Ducky has shown himself to be a sweet, affectionate boy who enjoys companionship and a peaceful routine. He can be a bit skittish on hardwood floors, but with encouragement and patience, he’s already gaining confidence (his foster family has been helping him practice — and yes, there’s video proof 🖤).

Ducky is vetted and has received vaccinations. He does not currently have a microchip or preventatives, and our veterinary team will continue to evaluate his needs to ensure he’s fully supported.

Ducky is fostered in Maryland and would do best in a home that understands pug quirks, values a calm environment, and is willing to give him the reassurance he deserves after a tough transition.
