A Pug Story...

Bartholomew James is a charming, well-mannered fawn pug gentleman who’s ready for his next chapter—and yes, he knows he’s adorable.

Bartholomew came to Appalachian Pug Rescue as an owner surrender when a family member was no longer able to care for him. Despite the upheaval, he’s handling it like a pro: calm, friendly, and clearly accustomed to being a loved family dog.

He’s described as very well-behaved, great with kids and other dogs, and generally just a solid little dude. He was bitten by another dog when he was younger but has no lasting issues from the incident—emotionally or physically. (Resilient king behavior.)

Bartholomew is not yet vetted, so he’ll be seeing our veterinary team for a full evaluation, vaccinations, and to be neutered before adoption. APR will make sure he’s fully cleared and ready to thrive.
