A Pug Story...

Meet Maggy May, a sweet adult female pug who has clearly had a rough start in life but still has so much love to give. Maggy came to Appalachian Pug Rescue after a difficult period, and while she’s safe now, she’s still recovering from both physical neglect and a lack of consistent care.

Maggy has some weakness and mobility issues in her back legs and shows signs of past malnourishment. She will need a patient, understanding home that can continue supporting her medically and emotionally as she regains strength and confidence. Despite everything she’s been through, Maggy is gentle, affectionate, and deeply appreciative of kindness. She seeks comfort, enjoys being close to her people, and thrives in calm, reassuring environments.

Maggy is vetted, with records from the shelter, and is currently fostered in Maryland. Our veterinary team will be evaluating her to determine her ongoing care needs and schedule her spay appointment. 

Maggy would do best in a quiet home with adopters who understand that love, stability, and time are just as important as medical care. With the right family, Maggy has every chance to continue improving and finally experience the life she deserves.

Maggy May will be available for adoption once vetting is complete and she is spayed.
