Meet Princess Althea Pearl

Althea Pearl is on medical hold. Can you be an angel for Althea? Even $5 makes a difference.

  • 7.5-year-old (estimated)
  • Intact female black pug
  • Approx. 16 lbs
  • Fostered in Maryland

Althea Pearl is an approximately 7.5-year-old owner surrender who has recently come into the care of Appalachian Pug Rescue. She is currently settling into foster care in Maryland, where we are getting to know her while we continue her medical evaluation.

Althea Pearl is described as sweet as pie and good with other dogs. She has a history that includes a previous attack by other dogs around the age of five and having been pregnant once in the past. At intake, a possible mass on her hind end was noted, and she is scheduled to be seen by the veterinarian to determine next steps. At this time, she is still decompressing and adjusting to rescue life.

🐾 What’s Next

Althea Pearl will remain on medical hold while we:

  • Complete her veterinary evaluation

  • Assess the possible hind-end mass

  • Monitor her overall health and comfort

  • Learn more about her personality and long-term needs

Right now, Althea Pearl’s focus is on rest, comfort, and feeling safe in foster care. We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more and will let everyone know when she’s ready to take the next step toward a forever home.

Help us welcome Althea Pearl to safety and care — her fresh start has just begun. 💛
