Happy Tails

Ethel Gertrude Pug in Maryland

Meet Princess Ethel Gertrude

Ethel Gertrude’s Happy Tail

We were blessed to find APR and the wonderful work that is done rescuing pugs.

We brought Ethel Gertrude, now known as Ellie, into our home after she spent three months with a loving foster family who nursed and nurtured her back to health.
As soon as we met Ellie we were instantly in love with her and that love has just continued to grow. It feels like she has always been a member of our family.

Ellie is an energetic, outgoing pug who likes to play with her toys, chew on Nyla bones and of course, eat! She has very limited vision and it took her some time to adjust to new surroundings but she now has the run of the house and is always happy to explore both inside and out.

She was housetrained when she arrived and has never had an accident in the house.

We live in a very active, dog friendly neighborhood and Ellie definitely fits right in. She loves to meet other dogs and play with them and she is dare we say one of the favorite dogs in the neighborhood.

People often come out to see her, stop the car to say hello and call her by name or nickname. She has been called, Miss Ellie, Ellie Bell and that “petite little lady.”

Working with APR was a great experience and well worth the time and effort to bring home our bundle of energy and joy.
